Mr. Travis comes from the South-Central VA Healthcare Network (VISN 16) located in Ridgeland, Mississippi where he served as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Network Director. Prior to his work for VISN 16, Mr. Travis served as the Deputy Director for the VHA Office of Medical Staff Affairs.  He also previously served as the Acting Assistant Director at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center (Gainesville, Florida), the Acting Associate Director at the Veteran Health Care System of the Ozarks (Fayetteville, Arkansas) and the Acting Associate Medical Center Director  at the Gulf Coast VA Health Care System.   

Mr. Travis is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), a  2009 graduate of the VISN 16’s Leadership Development Institute, and  is currently a member of the 2020-2021 VA Healthcare Leadership Development Cohort.  He holds an Associate degree in Radiological Science, a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, and a Master’s degree in Health Administration with a concentration in Informatics.  As a VHA certified mentor at the fellowship level, Mr. Travis has served as mentor to VISN16’s Emerging VA Leader’s Program and has championed facility level programs such as School-at-Work (SAW).
