Prior to this role, he held the position as Deputy Medical Center Director of VA St. Louis Health Care System as of October 2, 2017. Mr. McMullan holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a concentration in Health Care Administration. Prior to his selection, he was the Chief Executive Officer and Group Practice Manager for the United States Army in Fort Bragg, NC. Preceding that position, he was the Assistant Deputy Commander for Clinical Support Services at the Fort Belvoir Community Hospital. His accomplishments in these roles include: providing oversight for chief administrator functions associated with a stand-alone facility to include budget, facilities, space utilization, logistics management, equipment, supplies, contracting, public relations, systemic internal review, personnel management, and direct leadership and direction to all providers, nurses, ancillary staff, and administrative staff. Mr. McMullan was designated as the senior leader responsible for oversight of clinical support departments, divisions, and work centers within Human Resources Management, Customer Service, Radiology, Pharmacy (outpatient and inpatient), Medical Readiness, Pathology, Blood Bank, Nuclear Medicine, Radiology Oncology, Optometry, Audiology, and Preventive Medicine/Public Health. In addition to Mr. McMullan’s most recent specialized experience, he has served as Chief Hospital Administrator and Senior Headquarters Administrator for Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC.
