Anderson has held nursing leadership positions as Community Based Outpatient Clinic Manager, Infection Prevention Program Manager, Director of Homecare and Hospice Agency, and Emergency Department Nurse Manager. She's worked in various clinical areas including medical/surgical nursing, intensive care unit nursing, pediatrics, and oncology and has been a Department of Veterans Affairs employee since 2005. Prior to assuming her current position, Anderson was Deputy Nurse Executive for VA Maine Healthcare System providing clinical and operational oversight to acute care and long-term care.
Throughout her career, Anderson has been active in initiatives to improve quality of patient care, patient satisfaction, safe medication administration, infection prevention, and access to care. She's an active participant on committees and programs at both the regional and national level.
Anderson completed a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Southern Maine. She obtained a master's degree in nursing from Saint Joseph's College and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
