Dr. Hiett is a 1999 graduate of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). She completed residency in psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina in 1999 and then joined the staff of the Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks before coming to CAVHS in 2005. She is an active member of the UAMS Department of Psychiatry teaching faculty and has received several teaching awards.
Dr. Hiett has the overall management responsibility for clinical affairs, including medical, surgical, psychiatry, research and development, radiology, physical medical and rehabilitation, neurology, ambulatory care, mental health, dental, and pathology and laboratory medicine. Dr. Hiett is also highly involved in the credentialling and privileging process for CAVHS.
CAVHS is one of the most complex facilities in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) system and includes a two-campus medical center with 280 operating hospital beds, a 152-bed Community Living Center, a 119-bed domiciliary, eight Community Based Outpatient Clinics, a Day Treatment Center in downtown Little Rock.
