Lana Zerrer, MD, currently serves as Interim Director of Truman VA and was appointed Chief of Staff effective June 2010. She served as Acting Chief of Staff between October 2009 and June 2010. In January 2007, she was appointed Director of Primary Care.

Dr. Zerrer began her VA career in August 2005 as a staff physician and Primary Care provider. A native of Missouri, Dr. Zerrer earned a bachelor's degree from Westminster College, Fulton, Missouri, in 1995, and a medical degree in 1999 from the University of Missouri School of Medicine, in Columbia. She completed a residency in internal medicine in 2002 at MU and is board-certified.

Dr. Zerrer also served in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps from 2002 to 2005 and achieved the rank of Major. Her military experience includes a deployment to Kyrgyzstan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Dr. Zerrer is a member of the American College of Physicians.
