She is an alumni of the Bel Air Center for Health Professions. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas At El Paso; and her Masters of Science in Nursing, Nurse Systems Management from The University of Texas At El Paso, with certificates in Healthcare Leadership and Nursing Education.

Mrs. Aragon has four years of civilian and ten years of federal nursing experience. During her civilian career, she served as a staff RN in the Emergency Department at Metroplex Hospital in Killeen, Texas; a Nursing Supervisor for Endoscopy and Internal Medicine at the Tanana Valley Medical-Surgical Group in Fairbanks, AK, and a staff RN for Endoscopy Services at Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, TX.

Mrs. Aragon began her career with the EPVAHCS in June 2009 as a staff RN in the Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU). Soon after she was promoted to the Assistant Nurse Manager of ASU where she provided vital leadership in the areas of Sterile Processing, Peri-operative Services, and Reusable Medical Equipment. Mrs. Aragon then promoted to the ASU Nurse Manager, where she served in that role for three years. From December 2011 to June 2012, she served as the Interim Associate Director for Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive at the EPVAHCS.

Mrs. Aragon’s most recent assignment is that of the Deputy Nurse Executive, where she has served as an alternate member of the executive leadership team since May 2013.
