Mr. James "Jim" Brown was appointed Acting Assistant Medical Center Director at VHSO effective September 26, 2022. Mr. Brown has served as the Chief Supply Chain Officer prior to this appointment. He has also served as Acting Associate Director and Acting Assistant Director at VHSO at various times. Mr. Brown is retired from the Marine Corps with over 20 years of honorable and distinguished service. He spent most of his career in logistic/supply and participated in Operation Just Cause, Operation Support Hope, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and deployed to the middle east aboard the USS Tripoli and USS Peleliu. During his career he attended Amphibious Warfare School and Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico VA. After the Marine Corps, Mr. Brown pursued a career with ArcBest Corporation in Fort Smith, AR initially as an analyst and then managing a sales force for a $220 million market prior to joining the VA. Mr. Brown is a graduate of Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. He is married to Lisa and they have two grown children. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching college football. He is also an avid bicyclist and participates in numerous cycling events in the region.
