A native of Pensacola, Florida, Stewart is a government and communications professional who manages communication strategies to increase transparency, efficiency and awareness by enhancing the channels of communication for the Gulf Coast Veterans Healthcare System (GCVHCS).

As the GCVHCS Chief of Community and Public Affairs, Stewart serves as the principal advisor to the Medical Center director on all matters relating to strategic communication, including policy formulation, legislative affairs, media relations, social media, community engagement, internal communication, visual information, communication planning, contingency/crisis response, special events planning, security and policy review and resource management elements. He also directs and evaluates the execution of the organization's comprehensive Public Affairs, Voluntary Services, Patient Advocacy, Patient Experience and Congressional Correspondence service.

Previously, Stewart served as the public affairs officer for the Kansas City VA Medical Center and as the public information officer and spokesperson for the City of Pensacola, Florida. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of West Florida in Communications and Public Administration, respectively.

Stewart is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and served in Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
