Introduction
Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital has proposed razing nine vacant and underutilized buildings at the hospital’s main medical campus.
Full text of the Press Release

The buildings were constructed in the late 1920s and early 1930s as residential quarters and garages. They’ve remained mostly vacant and in poor condition for many years. The impacted area would become grassy, undeveloped land following removal.

The buildings are located in the east-central portion of the hospital’s main campus – 5000 South 5th Ave, Hines, IL 60141.

Members of the public wishing to comment on the proposed project can contact Lawrence Doyle, Hines VA Hospital Project Planning Section Chief, by Feb. 8, 2023, at Lawrence.Doyle2@va.gov
