Ms. Eckert has programmatic oversight for Acute Inpatient and Outpatient Nursing Service, Nursing Education and Research, Nutrition and Food Service, Physical Therapy,  Rehabilitation, Extended and  Community Care (RECC) Division, Rehabilitation Services,  Social Work, and the Sterile Processing Division.  She is responsible for nursing practice throughout the medical center and community clinics.  Prior to accepting the Acting ADPCS detail, Ms. Eckert served as the Associate Chief Nurse for the Nursing Education and Research Division.

Ms. Eckert was raised in Chicago and Milwaukee.  She had the pleasure of  working for the Milwaukee VAMC many years ago as a Nursing Assistant  while in college.  Since then, she spent more than 30 years in a variety of direct care and nursing  leadership roles in Chicago and Rochester, New York.  In 2014 Ms. Eckert was delighted to return to Milwaukee and to the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, joining the faculty of the Milwaukee VA Nursing Academic Partnership with Marquette University College of Nursing.

Ms. Eckert earned a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree from Marquette University College of Nursing, and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.  She is currently a student at UWM College of Nursing in the Doctor of Nursing Practice-Executive Track.  Ms. Eckert is a graduate of the Milwaukee VAMC Leadership Development Program (MLDP) and the VISN 12 Leadership Development Program (VLDP).  She is a member of the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD).

Outside of work Ms. Eckert enjoys reading, recreational bicycling, and relaxing with family and friends.
