- Why VA Houston: As a granddaughter of a Vietnam Veteran, I wanted to gain more experience serving the Veteran population. I had the opportunity to complete a drug informatics and pharmacoeconomics clinical rotation at a VA Hospital as an APPE student, and since then, I knew that I wanted to continue post-graduate training within the VA system. The PGY1 residency at VA Houston offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient rotations, unique electives, and a robust-team based approach to patient care to allow me to become a well-rounded clinical pharmacist. VA Houston also provides opportunities to grow professionally and confidently within pharmacy practice. I have a strong passion for serving others, and I believe there is no better way to give back than to serve those who have served our country.
