Mr. Brian Pauley has been appointed the ADPCS for G.V. (Sonny Montgomery) VA Medical Center and will begin November 21, 2021.  He joins us from the Spark M. Matsunaga VA Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii where he was the Associate Chief Nurse for Geriatrics and Extended Care and Acting Chief of Quality Safety & Value. He is an experienced nurse leader and clinical nurse with 18 years of nursing experience. His career in progressive Nursing Management & Leadership in diversified settings include Critical Care, Home Based Primary Care, Home and Community Based Services, Geriatrics, Mental Health and Quality Safety Value.

Mr. Pauley received his Associates of Science in Nursing in 2003, Bachelor of Nursing (Magna Cum Laude) from Regis University in 2008 and his master’s degree in nursing leadership in healthcare systems (Graduate Honors) from Regis University in 2014. Mr. Pauley is a 20-year Veteran of the U.S. Army Nurse Corp has served as a clinician and in various leadership positions. He is a graduate the Command and General Staff Officers’ Course from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC) with a focus on leadership and organizational change. Mr. Pauley’s. decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, and various service and campaign medals. In addition, he deployed in medical support of sick and injured service members in Iraq as a critical care and flight nurse.

In his new role as Associate Director for Patient Care Services (ADPCS) he will provide organizational oversight for Sterile Processing Service, Chaplain Service, and all of the nursing practice throughout the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center.  This will include the (7) Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Columbus, Hattiesburg, Meridian, McComb, Greenville, Kosciusko, and Natchez that serve the middle third of Mississippi and parts of Arkansas and Louisiana. The ADPCS demonstrates complex leadership and administrative expertise associated with critical health care issues and activities that influence the organizational mission, health care, and policies through active involvement in strategic planning, organizational assessment, and program development.
