Mrs. Eckerson has served as a Health Systems Specialist to the Associate Director since April 2019. She also served as Acting Chief, Nutrition and Food Services as well as Food Section Management Chief at the G.V. Sonny Montgomery VA Medical.  Throughout her time at the facility, Mrs. Eckerson has worked on various projects such as improving All Employee Survey engagement, huddle board implementation, servant leadership, and multiple site visits.  

Before joining the Jackson VA Medical Center, Mrs. Eckerson worked in the private sector as a Registered Dietitian in multiple healthcare settings. Her experience includes contract management throughout the United States as well as clinical experience in cardiovascular, orthopedics, oncology, eating disorders, and acute inpatient services. 

Mrs. Eckerson completed part of her coordinated dietetic internship at the G.V. Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center through the University of Southern Mississippi. Mrs. Eckerson went on to acquire a Master of Health Services Administration from Mississippi College. She lives in Madison with her husband, Clay and their two children, Audrey, and Evan.
