She joined the KCVA family after serving as the Chief of Surgery at VA Black Hills in Fort Mead, SD for nearly three years.  Prior to her VA career, Dr. Callahan worked as a Cardiac Anesthesiologist and Director of Anesthesia Services in North Colorado for Banner Health, a position she held for 10 years.  Dr. Callahan graduated from The University of Kansas Medical School and trained in Anesthesia at the University of Florida with her Cardiac Fellowship at the University of Colorado.  Dr. Callahan is a proud Navy Veteran, serving five years as the Senior Medical Officer at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth, TX.  Dr. Callahan is married and has one fur baby.
