In this role, she has oversight of nursing, education, and patient care services for Veterans throughout the state. As a member of the executive team, Ms. Gartley holds a key role in strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and resource management.
Previously, Ms. Gartley held clinical and nursing leadership roles in the private sector, assuming greater levels of responsibility throughout the years. Specific areas of clinical expertise included medical/surgical, endoscopy, and peri-operative nursing care. Ms. Gartley obtained a BSN from the University of Maine at Orono in 1991 and an MBA from Thomas College in Waterville, Maine in 2004. She was appointed as a Baldrige Examiner in 2012. Ms. Gartley is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Organization of Nurse Executives.
Throughout her career, Ms. Gartley has been involved with many initiatives to improve health care quality and patient satisfaction. Within the VA system, she is a member of various local, regional, and national teams and is committed to providing excellent patient care. Ms. Gartley is honored to be a part of the VA Maine HCS community.
