Full text of the Press Release

Curbow was nominated for this prestigious award by a fellow co-worker and a Veteran patient when he recently went above and beyond the normal call of duty.

In a moment of urgency, he immediately advocated on his patient’s behalf, leading to potentially life saving placement into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

According to his patient, “Chase always goes above and beyond the criteria for this award – he is definitely an amazing professional and asset to the Martinsburg VAMC.”

The DAISY Foundation award recognizes the extraordinary efforts of nurses on a daily basis. Veteran patients, visitors, nurses, physicians, and other staff members can nominate nurses for The DAISY Award.

Other DAISY nominees included Jeanette Scott, NA, Lori Mills, RN, Mark Bagby, RN, Lori Prunty, RN, Bethany Whitney, RN, Bradley Shutack, RN, Angela Armstrong, RN, Sabrina Ruffner, RN, Nicole Bonner, NP, and Katherine Gandolfi, RN.

The Martinsburg VAMC thanks all its dedicated nursing staff for their commitment to our Nation’s Heroes.
