Ms. Tyler comes to the Memphis VA Health Care System from the Salisbury VA Health Care System in Salisbury, North Carolina where she served since 2011. Her most recent role was as the Chief Nurse, Acute Care where she was responsible for oversite of Acute Care including the Medical/Surgical inpatient units, ICU, the Emergency Department, Dialysis, Endoscopy and GI. Her other assignments at Salisbury VAMC include serving as Chief Nurse of SPS, CLC and HBPC and the Nurse Manager of Intervention, Oncology, Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Urology and the Infusion Clinics. Ms. Tyler had over 15 years’ experience as an RN in the private sector before joining the VA system. She worked in the emergency room at a community Level 1 Trauma Center and Critical Care Transport. She also was the Unit Coordinator in a local emergency department and worked in ICU. Ms. Tyler graduated from Eastern Carolina University and earned an MSN from St. Joseph’s College with a concentration in Health Administration. Ms. Tyler’s transformative and servant leadership style led to multiple process improvements at the Salisbury VAMC. She is a member of the Salisbury Plan Improving Customer Experience Team to increase Veteran satisfaction scores and is a part time instructor for Nursing students at the Salisbury VA.
