Juliza is an Army Combat Veteran. She began her VA career in 2016 as an Executive Assistant to the North Atlantic District Veterans Experience Officer (VEO). Juliza later served as a Workforce Development Coordinator at VA Hudson Valley Health Care System from 2017-2020. Juliza was promoted to Health Systems Specialist/Executive Assistant to the Quality Management Officer at the New York / New Jersey Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 2) and served in this role from 2020-2022.  

Prior to VA, Juliza served as an Administrative Officer with the Department of Defense (DoD) at USMA’s Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership (BS&L) from 2013 – 2016. In this role, Juliza received several civilian awards and recognition, including the Superior Civilian Service Award in 2016 and the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service in 2014 and 2015. From 2012 – 2013, Juliza also served with DoD at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital (GLWACH) as a Psychology Technician where she was awarded the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service in 2013.   

Juliza was commissioned as an Engineer Officer (Second Lieutenant) and earned a Bachelor of Science in General Psychology at the United States Military Academy (USMA) - West Point in 2001. She served with 1st Cavalry Division from 2001-2006.  

Juliza holds a Master of Counseling and Personnel Services from the University of Louisville (UofL), where she was recognized as the Counselor of the Year in 2010. In 2018, Juliza earned fellow status from the Partnership for Public Service Excellence in Government (EIG) Program and was selected as the graduating class speaker. In 2022, Juliza completed a Master of Health Administration (MHA) from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at New York University (NYU).
