Dr. Ferguson has served as the Associate Director for Patient Care/Nurse Executive since June 1, 2021. She has been a member of the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System staff for 20 years, serving in multiple capacities. 

Dr. Ferguson’s career with the Department of Veterans Affairs began in 1993 when she began volunteering at the Grand Island VA Medical Center. In 2000 she joined VA NWIHCS fulltime as a nursing assistant.  She then transferred to the Omaha VA Medical Center while obtaining her BSN from Nebraska Methodist College.  In 2011 she obtained her MSN in Nursing Administration from Nebraska Wesleyan University. She received her Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in December 2021.

Ferguson’s professional background includes inpatient nursing, hospice/palliative care, recruitment, and nursing leadership.
