Patriot Café (Canteen)

Visitors are welcome to eat in the Dayton VA Medical Center Canteen, which is located on the first floor of the Patient Tower (Bldg. 330). We offer hot and cold entrees, beverages and desserts. Vending machines are available for your convenience 24 hours a day.

Spiritual And Religious Services

Our chaplains help patients and family members through outpatient treatment, hospital stays, and extended care. If needed, they will contact your personal clergy or spiritual care provider in the community. Our chaplains are clinical pastoral care specialists who provide religious and non-religious people with services such as:

• Bereavement (grief and loss) care
• Comfort and counseling
• Communion
• Funerals
• Weddings

The Fisher House offers temporary lodging to the family members and caregivers of Servicemembers and Veterans who are hospitalized or are receiving extended, episodic outpatient treatment at the Dayton VA Medical Center or in conjunction with VHA.

Because of the ongoing moderately-high community COVID rates and despite the vaccine deployment, the visitation restrictions will remain in effect to ensure the safety of our Veterans, their families, staff, and other visitors. Visitation to the Dayton VA Medical Center and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC’s) is limited to on-duty employees, Veterans with a scheduled appointment or going to the emergency room, and approved contactors and visitors.

Persons entering/re-entering facilities must consent to medical screening for possible COVID-19 exposure, symptoms, and/or pending test results. A refusal of consent to the medical screening or a positive screen is basis for denial of admittance.

Visitors should be five (5) years or older.

5th Floor Visitor Guidelines

To comply with Dayton VA CLC Visitor Policy per Director, SCHEDULED visitation can take place under the following guidelines (subject to change): 

•  Vaccinated AND Unvaccinated veteran eligible for visitation; if coming from community hospital/nursing facility there is a 7 day waiting period until visitation is allowed.
• Visits MUST BE SCHEDULED IN ADVANCE. No walk-in visitors will be allowed. Family members/friends can call 5 N/S Social Worker Dominique to schedule at 937-268-6511, ext 2623. Appointments are Monday-Friday, 1pm and 3pm only. Visits are 60 minutes only. Up to two people per visit. No one under the age of 18 permitted. Visitors/Veterans must wear masks at all times. Staff will escort visitors to 5th floor Dayroom for visits. *Absolutely no visitors permitted on the units at this time.
