Prior to joining TVHS, Mr. Turner served as the chief of facilities management at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Prior to that role, he was the energy program manager at the VHA Center for Engineering and Occupational Safety and Health. Earlier positions include the chief engineer at the Carl Vinson VAMC in Dublin, Georgia, and the chief of facilities management at the Ralph H. Johnson VAMC in Charleston, South Carolina.
Mr. Turner retired as a Civil Engineer Corps officer after a 22-year Naval career that included 12 years in the submarine force as a nuclear plant operator. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from The Citadel, a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of South Carolina, and an MBA with a focus in program/project management from Strayer University. He is a graduate of the Network Executive Healthcare Institute, the Excellence in Government Fellowship program, and the Healthcare Leadership Development program. He is a registered professional engineer, a senior-level federal acquisition certificate for program/project manager, and a certified healthcare facility manager.
Mr. Turner and his wife have five daughters and four granddaughters.
