She previously served in a variety of nursing management positions, including Clinical Manager, Lead Nurse Practitioner, and Chief Nurse.

Dr. Weiss was appointed as the Deputy Associate Director, Patient Care Services, Chief Nurse Executive in April, 2017. As Deputy Nurse Executive, she directly supervises Pharmacy, Social Work, and Patient Centered Care services, as well as clinical oversight for nursing practice throughout the medical center including the Wound Care Program and Full Practice Authority implementation for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses.

With over 18 years in the health care industry, Dr. Weiss brings extensive clinical, and administrative experience. Dr. Weiss also has an outstanding academic background that includes a Bachelor’s degree in Science Nursing from the California State University, Fullerton; a Master of Science in Nursing from the Nurse Practitioner Program of the University of California at Los Angeles and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of San Diego, California.

As a member of the senior leadership team, Dr. Weiss provides leadership, planning and administration of day-to-day patient-care operations, including employing evidenced based-practices, applying quality improvement projects, focusing on patient-centered care to enhance the Veteran’s experience.
