In December 2018, Dr. Jones was appointed as the Associate Chief of Staff and continues to serve as the Chief of Pharmacy Service for Veterans Health Indiana. Dr. Jones has served as the Chief of Pharmacy Service since July 2004, where he is responsible for overseeing the clinical and distribution pharmacy operations for over 60,000 Veterans annually.
Dr. Jones entered pharmacy practice at Roudebush as the clinical pharmacy specialist for the medical intensive care unit. In 2010, Dr. Jones was charged with standing up a pharmacy call center for the former VISN 11 on the campus of Ft. Benjamin Harrison on the east side of Indianapolis to meet the medication & informational needs of Veterans in Indiana, central Illinois and Michigan. Dr. Jones served as the executive over the VISN 11 Pharmacy Call Center until the group was incorporated into the new VISN 10 Pharmacy Contact Center in January 2017.
Dr. Jones is highly involved in pharmacy healthcare trainee programs. He currently serves on the VACO Pharmacy Program Office Residency Advisory Board and the Butler University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences Experiential Committee. In 2010, Dr. Jones and team were awarded the VA USH Award for Innovation for the facility’s non-traditional residency program.
Dr. Jones has a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and a MBA from Butler University and completed a pharmacy practice residency at the Indianapolis VA Medical Center.
