Ms. Kelley Sermak, RN, MSHSA has served as the Associate Director, Patient Care Services since March 20, 2016. She received her Associates Degree in Nursing from Lakeview College of Nursing, Danville, Illinois, Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Illinois, and a Master of Science Degree in Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Illinois.
Ms. Sermak began her nursing career in 1985 at United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. She began her VA career in 2003 at the VA Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Illinois as a Performance Improvement Nurse. In 2008, she went to the VISN 11 Network office in Ann Arbor, MI as the Deputy, Quality Management Officer and went on to become the VISN Quality Management Officer. In 2013, Ms. Sermak went to the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center where she served as the Deputy, Associate Director of Patient Care Services. In 2015, she provided nursing leadership at the West Texas Health Care System, in Big Spring Texas, as the Acting, ADPCS. She also served as the Acting, Associate Director Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive at the Battle Creek VA. Throughout Ms. Sermak's career she has worked with all disciplines to improve the quality of patient care. She is proud of the opportunities she has had to coach and mentor nurses who are now in leadership positions. Ms. Sermak is involved in local and national Nursing Organizations.
