Patricia Davis, RN, MSN, MSHA, NEA-BC, was appointed as the Interim Associate Director for Patient Care Services/Chief Nurse Executive for the VA Maryland Health Care System on October 10, 2021. Prior to her appointment, she served as the Deputy Chief Nurse Executive for the health care system since October 2019.
As the Interim Associate Director for Patient Care Services/Chief Nurse Executive, Ms. Davis leads the day-to-day operations of Nursing, Social Work and Sterile Processing Services for the health care system. Her principal areas of responsibility include planning, coordinating, and evaluating the operations of these services.
Ms. Davis began her VA career in March 2003 as the Program Manager for Access to Care, Telephone Care and Care Management for the VA Maryland Health Care System. In June 2004, she was promoted to Director of the Care Coordination Home Telehealth Program for the health care system. Prior to her VA career, Ms. Davis served as the Director of Clinical Practice for Elder Health Inc. and the Site Manager for the John Hopkins Medical Service Corporation, both in Baltimore. She also served in other nursing administrator and clinical nursing positions throughout the Baltimore area.
Ms. Davis received a Diploma in Nursing from Helene Fuld School of Nursing, Provident Hospital in Baltimore, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The College of Notre Dame of Maryland, a Master of Science in Nursing from Howard University, and a Master of Science in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University.
Ms. Davis served as a member of the United States Army where she attained the rank of Captain.
