Dr. Briggs joined STVHCS in 2018 as a Hospitalist in Medicine Service and as the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Physician Advisor. Prior to her position here, she was a Hospitalist and CDI Physician Advisor at University Hospital System.

Dr. Briggs received her MD/PhD from Texas A&M University System Health Science Center, College of Medicine, TX in 2007. She completed her Internal Medicine residency in 2010, her chief resident year in 2011, and Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 2014. Dr Briggs is also board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease. She is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at UT Health Science Center and maintains an active teaching role as a hospitalist on the inpatient ward and medicine consult teams.
