Dr. Vazirani attended University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Medical School and completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Master of Public Health at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where she currently is a Health Sciences Clinical Professor of Medicine. She launched the UCLA Hospitalist program in 1998 and transitioned to VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System in 2003. 

Dr. Vazirani has served as medical director over numerous clinical areas, including the preoperative program, medical-surgical co-management service and the clinical procedure center.  Her focus is clinical operations, and she oversaw COVID-19 clinical operations at West Los Angeles VA Medical Center. She was the champion for the VHA Referral Coordination Initiative and Co-Chair for the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. 

She is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified and partook in the OPM/HTLI Leadership assessment program.
