As the Acting Associate Director for Patient Care Services/Chief Nurse Executive, Dr. Rai leads the day-to-day operations of Nursing, Social Work and Sterile Processing Services for the health care system. Her principal areas of responsibility include planning, coordinating and evaluating the operations of these services.

Dr. Rai has over 17 years of nursing leadership experience in both the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and private sector. She has held positions of increasing responsibility throughout her career, including roles as Chief Nurse Executive, VA Northeast Ohio Health Care System; Acting Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Services, VA Southern Arizona Health Care System; and Director of Nursing, Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Rai has led teams to seven Beacon Awards for Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and a Pathway to Excellence designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Dr. Rai completed both VHA and Cleveland Clinic executive leadership training and holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Ohio University.
