He served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Fayetteville NC VA Coastal Health Care System from November 24, 2019, to April 8, 2022.  He also served as the Interim Deputy Chief of Staff for the Fayetteville VA from July 21, 2019  to November 23, 2019.

He is currently a practicing Diagnostic Radiologist who specializes in Musculoskeletal Imaging.  He is certified by the American Board of Radiology and American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety.  Dr. Cosmello joined VA in May of 2016 as a Radiologist and served as the MRI Safety Officer until July 2019.   Dr. Cosmello is presently the Clinical Department Chair for Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging with the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.

Dr. Cosmello previously practiced Diagnostic Radiology at Self Regional Hospital in Greenwood. He completed a fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging and completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Wake Forest Baptist Center. Dr. Cosmello graduated as the valedictorian from Nova Southern University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Cosmello graduated Albany College of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
