Prior to this assignment, she served as the Chief, Office of Communications and Outreach for the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System (NF/SGVHS). NF/SGVHS serves more than 140,000 Veterans, employing more than 5,800 medical professionals and support staff, operating 14 facilities to include two medical centers located in Gainesville and Lake City (Community Living Center at each location), three large specialty outpatient clinics, and nine community-based outpatient clinics located throughout a 50-county catchment area.

Ms. Wells’ VA career began in in 2011 while completing the Institute for Diversity in Health Management Summer Enrichment Program where she served as an Intern at the Birmingham VA Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. In 2013, Ms. Wells completed her Administrative Fellowship with the Graduate Health Administrative Training Program (GHATP) at the NF/SGVHS. Prior to this role she served as a Pathways Intern at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN.

Ms. Wells is a graduate of Spelman College, Atlanta, Georgia, where she earned her B.A. in Psychology, obtained her master’s degree in Public Health with a concentration in Health Administration from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. She is a current student and leader in the 2022 Healthcare Leadership Development Program (HCLDP) class, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, National Association of Health Services Executives, and the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). She is the recipient of the 2021 ACHE VA Regent Early Careerist Award.
