Mr. Melton holds more than 20+ years of executive experience leading diverse traditional and non-traditional medical organizations for the U.S. Military Health System. He has served as commander (civilian equivalent of a Chief Executive Officer) for Womack Army Medical Center, Irwin Army Community Hospital, director of the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Central North Carolina Market, and most recently, deputy commander of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command.

Mr. Melton is a is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, New York (B.S. 1992), the Foster School of Business, University of Washington, Seattle, Washington (M.B.A. 2004), and the Army War College (M.S.S. 2015).

Mr. Melton’s awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit (with 2 Oak Leaf Cluster), Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with 6 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (with 4 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (with 4 OLC), Meritorious Unit Citation, Expert Field Medical Badge, Parachutist Badge, and the Order of Military Medical Merit.

Mr. Melton and his wife, Myung Hee, have been living their best life together for more than 25 years.
