Dr. Annadata rejoins the VA after serving as Chief Medical Officer of Behavioral Health for United Healthcare, and Senior Medical Director of Behavioral Health for Optum. He has a rich history of working with Veterans, serving at several VA facilities in multiple roles. Previous VA positions include Staff Psychiatrist in Salt Lake City, Section Chief of Outpatient Psychiatry in Memphis, Deputy & Acting Chief of Extended Care & Rehabilitation Service in Iowa City, and Deputy Chief of Staff in Montana.

Dr. Annadata earned his MD from the Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. He completed a residency in psychiatry at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and is board certified in psychiatry and brain injury medicine by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and addiction medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Annadata earned his Master of Public Health from Western Kentucky University, and his Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He previously served as Assistant professor of Psychiatry at the University of Utah School of Medicine, and Advisory Board Member for Massachusetts Institute of Technology Catalyst.
