Crystal Russell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She joined the Northport VA Medical Center team in 2015, as a Social Worker in the HUD-VASH (Housing and Urban Development- VA Supportive Housing)  program where she assisted Veterans in locating, securing and maintaining stable safe housing on Long Island.  From there she continued her VA career in Social Work as an Inpatient Medical Social Worker,  directly serving Veterans throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Most recently, she served as the facility Patient Advocate, and acted as the facility PATS-R (Patient Advocate Tracking System-Replacement) Champion.

Ms. Russell holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Health (B.S) from the State University of New York at Cortland as well as a Master of Social Work (MSW) Degree from Adelphi University. Crystal is a recent graduate of the VISN 2 Bridges 360 Leadership Program and has also completed a Post Masters Certificate in Executive Leadership from New York University. During her career at Northport Crystal  has worked on a number of multidisciplinary teams and is a part of several initiatives to improve Veteran satisfaction and overall care.
