Ms. Naungayan started her career at VA Palo Alto Heath Care System (VAPAHCS) in 2008 in a new graduate nursing program. With years of clinical experience in Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Stepdown, Post-procedural unit, Ms. Naungayan held progressive leadership roles as a Nurse Manager, Assistant Chief Nurse and Chief Nurse of Acute Care Hospital Operations (ACHO). In ACHO, Ms. Naungayan supervised the nursing leadership for the Critical Care units (2), Medical Surgical (3), Emergency Room, Case Management, Nursing Supervisors Office, and Clinical Command Center.

Ms. Naungayan earned her Bachelor of Science degree from San Jose State University and her Master of Science in Nursing with focus on Health Systems Management from Johns Hopkins University.

Ms. Naungayan is recognized for her passion in servant leadership; mentoring and developing clinical nurse leaders to advance the nursing practice and profession; and progress the care for our Veterans. As a LEAN leader, Ms. Naungayan collaborated closely with her Acute Care physician Dyad partner and multidisciplinary teams using innovative solutions and strategies to advance VA’s mission to deliver outstanding care for our Veterans.

Ms. Naungayan received her LSS Black Belt training, and has worked on improving the facility’s strategic priorities and major initiatives that impact patient outcomes, such as Intermediate Care Technician, GeriVet, SCOUTS, Project Re-Engineered Discharge, Vocera, AVASYS, quietness/noise reduction, and post-op pneumonia prevention.
