Dr. Allen oversees the Employee Engagement Center, Health Administration Service, logistics, nutrition and food services, privacy, prosthetics, and safety and emergency management. She also serves as VAPHS’s Integrated Ethics program officer and is its liaison with the Veterans Canteen Service, contracting/acquisitions, human resources and its three Vet Centers.

She joined VAPHS in 2005 as an intern, where she has served as acting assistant director, acting associate director, executive assistant to the director and strategic planner. Most recently, Dr. Allen served as acting assistant director at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia.

Dr. Allen received bachelor’s degrees in microbiology and business from the University of Pittsburgh, where she also minored in microeconomics. She obtained her master’s degree in health administration from the University of Pittsburgh and completed her doctorate in health care ethics in 2016 at Duquesne University.
