When:  10:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. October 12

Where: Sunnyside Park Pavilion, 1735 Sunnyside Ave, Salt Lake City, UT 84108

Who:  Homeless Veterans

The original stand-downs held during the Vietnam War provided soldiers returning from the battlefield with a secure place to grab a shower, get clean uniforms, and receive medical and dental care. The Homeless Veteran Stand Down provides many of the same opportunities to homeless Veterans, giving them a breather from the streets and connecting them with services. The VA Salt Lake City homeless program coordinated the following services for the stand down: homeless medical team, Veteran Justice Outreach program, and Housing Urban Development-Veterans Affairs Supporting Housing program.

Our community partners, Veterans Benefits Administration, Vet Centers, Department of Workforce Services, the Road Home, Social Security Administration, and the Utah Department of Veteran and Military Affairs will also be on hand to help our homeless Veterans with a variety of services.

Questions should be directed to the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System, Public Affairs Officer, Jeremy M. Laird, 801-419-5252 or email jeremy.laird@va.gov.
