Ms. Smith responsibilities include oversight of the following services:  Health Information  Management, Financial, Supply Chain Management, VA Police, Environmental Management,  Facility Management, Health Administration, as well as the Veterans Experience Office, Green Environmental Management System, Industrial Hygiene, Safety, and Emergency Management programs.

She has more than a decade of professional experience in the VA medical system and nearly 18 years in medical administration. Prior to moving into the role of Interim Associate Director at the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center, she was appointed as the Executive Assistant to the Medical Center Director effective November 2020.

Ms. Smith started her VA career in July 2010 at the Jonathan M. Wainwright VA and has served in various roles in medical administration, including supervisory, moving on to the Salem VA Medical Center (Salem, VA) and the Ralph H. Johnson VA Health Care System (Charleston, SC), returning to the the Jonathan M. Wainwright VA in April 2020. In the private sector, she worked in a billing office for 7 years.

A native of Walla Walla, Ms. Smith received an Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences in Medical Administration at the Walla Walla Community College (Walla Walla, WA) in 2009 and is set to complete her Bachelor of Science in Public Administration at Southern New Hampshire University (Hooksett, NH) in June 2022. She was certified as a CCS-P in 2014 and graduated from the VISN 20-21 Leadership Development Institute in 2017.
