Intimate partner violence is a specific type of domestic violence that describes any violent behavior including, but not limited to, physical or sexual violence, stalking or psychological (verbal or emotional) aggression (including coercion) between intimate partners. IPV can range in severity and occur in one incident or over a longer period of time. It can lead to short-term and long-term health problems, and a wide range of mental health issues. If you or someone you know is potentially experiencing or using intimate partner violence, we can help. We offer:

  • Intimate Partner Violence Care Coordinators
  • Links to community resources such as support groups, advocacy, legal and domestic violence shelter services. 
  • Referrals to other VA treatment providers and services such as mental health or Homeless Veteran services.
  • VA provides services for Veterans who use or experience violence in their intimate relationships.
