VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS)  Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE), formerly Voluntary Service depends on the goodwill of our supporters. You can make a difference when you help us serve our Veterans.

Current volunteer program needs include Information Desk Ambassadors at one of our VA Clinics: 

CDCE is looking for the following volunteer staffing opportunities:

  • Fisher House
  • Musicians
  • Infusion Clinic
  • Mail Room
  • DAV Drivers

This list is not all inclusive and may change based on the needs of the health care system.

To volunteer criteria must be met

Prospective volunteers must:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Complete a volunteer application which may be obtained through CDCE
  • Be interviewed to match interests with current volunteer needs of our healthcare system
  • Fingerprinted with Human Resources for a background check
  • Take a Tuberculosis screening test with Occupational Health
  • Attend new volunteer orientation

Please note specific volunteer opportunities (i.e., DAV Driver) may require additional requirements.

Summer youth volunteer program

High school students ages 14-18 with at least one year of high school remaining may apply as a summer youth volunteer in March if the program is authorized.  

The program runs from June through mid-August in conjunction with the Clark County School District summer vacation schedule.

Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, the 2022 Summer Youth Program session has been suspended.  CDCE plans on offering a virtual activity in lieu of a face-to-face experience.  

Interested students must pick up a physical application package (if available) in the CDCE/Voluntary Service office:
