UGI (UPPER GI) PRE-APPOINTMENT

NIGHT BEFORE TEST:

  1. NO FOOD/DRINK AFTER MIDNIGHT.

MORNING OF TEST:

  1. NO FOOD/DRINK.
  2. If you are diabetic on an oral agent: DO NOT TAKE YOUR PILL FOR BLOOD SUGAR MORNING OF PROCEDURE.
  3. If you are diabetic on insulin: TAKE 1/2 DOSE MORNING OF PROCEDURE.
SMALL BOWEL PRE-APPOINTMENT

NIGHT BEFORE TEST:

  1. NO FOOD/DRINK AFTER MIDNIGHT.

MORNING OF TEST:

  1. NO FOOD/DRINK.
  2. If you are diabetic on an oral agent: DO NOT TAKE YOUR PILL FOR BLOOD SUGAR MORNING OF PROCEDURE.
  3. If you are diabetic on insulin: TAKE 1/2 DOSE MORNING OF PROCEDURE.
BAE (BARIUM) PRE-APPOINTMENT

MORNING BEFORE EXAM:

1) Have a liquid breakfast (no solid food), then CLEAR LIQUIDS ONLY.

2) Continue clear liquid diet only, drinking as much water as possible until bedtime.

3) GOLYTELY OR COLYTE:  Begin 2PM by following mixing instructions on jug.

   DO NOT ADD ANY SUGAR OR SUGAR CONTAINING FLAVORS TO MIX.

4) DULCOLAX(Bisacodyl) TABLETS: TAKE (2) TABLETS at 6 PM NIGHT BEFORE EXAM.

***NO FOOD OR DRINK (except meds) AFTER 12AM NIGHT BEFORE EXAM***

***REMEMBER TO DRINK PLENTY OF WATER NIGHT BEFORE THE EXAM UNTIL BEDTIME***

MORNING OF EXAM:

1) Take any oral medications with sip of water.

2) If you are diabetic on insulin, take 1/2 dose before exam.

MAMMOGRAM PRE-APPOINTMENT

DO NOT WEAR ANY DEODORANT OR POWDER to your Mammogram Appointment. You may bring it along with you to apply after the exam is completed.

DEXA PRE-APPOINTMENT

If within one week prior to this exam you have had or are going to have any exam that requires/required (drinking or injection of barium and/or contrast media) please inform radiology to properly schedule your exam.
