Transportation services for Veterans

We work with Veterans Transportation Service (VTS) and volunteers to provide transportation for Veterans and authorized caregivers to get to scheduled medical appointments.

Many localities in the region provide other transportation services for Veterans.

Shuttle service

Our Voluntary Services team provides free shuttle service on our Bay Pines VA main campus to help Veterans get to their appointments from any of our parking lots. These shuttles are continually running during our normal business hours.

Beneficiary travel

Beneficiary travel benefits include round-trip transportation from your home to the medical center, mileage reimbursement, or special mode transport.

Fisher House

Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is proud to have a Fisher House on our main campus, and soon TWO Fisher Houses! Fisher Houses offer spouses and families of in-patient Veterans a place to call home while their Veteran is receiving care at C.W. Bill Young VAMC. Our house provides private bedrooms and baths, and guests share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, dining area and an inviting living room.

Veterans Canteen Service

Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) provides retail, food and vending services to our Veterans, staff and guests. VCS is proud to give back to the VA Community, supporting VA's national rehabilitation events, Fisher Houses, disaster relief efforts, homeless Veterans programs, Women Veterans and suicide prevention programs. VCS provides the following services on our main Bay Pines VA campus:

PatriotStore

Veterans, staff and guests will find a variety of items,  to include: snacks, meals-to-go items,  electronics, men's and women's fragrances, apparel, giftware and much more. The Canteen store is located in Bldg. 1.

Hours: Monday - Friday 7 AM - 4 PM; Saturday 9 AM - 2 PM, and Sunday 9 AM - 1 PM

PatriotBrew 

Our Canteen coffee shop, located in Bldg. 100 (Room 1D-165),  proudly serves Starbucks coffee, made-to-order hot and cold drinks, grab-and go meal items, and baked goods.

Hours: Monday - Friday 7 AM - 3:30 PM

PatriotCafe'

Our Canteen cafeteria, located in Bldg. 1,  provides a hot food line, daily specials, made-to-order grill items, grab-and-go cold meal items, fresh made sushi, baked items, snacks and more.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 2 PM

PatriotClips 

Our VCS barber, located in Bldg. 1, provides haircuts and beard trims at affordable prices.  Cash only.

Hours: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, 7 AM - 11 AM

NOTE: All VCS locations are closed on recognized Federal and national holidays.

United States Postal Service (USPS)

A post office is located in Bldg. 22 (first floor) on our Bay Pines VA main campus. 

Open: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4 PM (except Federal Holidays)

Closed: 10 - 11 AM for lunch, and on the following holidays (holiday day recognized by federal government):
