The Hilo Vet Center is sensitive to Veterans and families struggles with post traumatic stress, issues with addictions, and suicidal tendencies.  We are uniquely equipped with staff to assist in navigating these struggles, access to community resources for assistance in alleviating other stressors and developing healthier options for improved outcomes.

At Hilo Vet Center, we offer

• One-on-one hour-long counseling sessions targeted at your individual needs
• Group counseling for Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans, Vietnam Veterans, Anger Management, and more

The Hilo Vet Center also partners with the VA’s outpatient clinic for referral for medical and mental health services.

American Samoa is noted for having the highest rate of military enlistment of any U.S. state or territory.  Many Veterans return home and find it challenging readjusting to the island life.  The Vet Center can assist in readjustment and improving quality of life.

American Samoa is very patriotic and is ranked 1st in recruitment into the military per capita.  Many Samoans have been involved in wars and various conflicts.  Many continue to deal with the impact from their experiences in combat.

American Samoa Vet Center offers individual and group counseling:

• Vietnam Veterans Group
• Iraq/Afghanistan Group
• Recreational Group

Therapeutic activities such as hiking, table tennis, exercise, outdoor activities and events.

American Samoa Vet Center has a Licensed  Clinical Social Worker onsite to offer family and couples counseling.
