The South Burlington Vet Center understands that the transition from military to civilian life can be challenging. We offer a variety of ways to assist you in that process such as:
- How to get VA medical benefits and register for care
- Where to go to file claims and other forms
- Referral to VA Readiness and Employment (VR&E) and other state and local employment offices
- Referral for other VA benefits such as: Home loans, education benefits, burial benefits, and Vermont State benefits for Veterans
- Readjustment counseling to help with experiences in the military and challenges in civilian life
- Couple and family therapy to help strengthen your relationships
The South Burlington Vet Center can also connect you to Veterans Service Organizations in your community.
Trenton Vet Center - Returning service member care
Trenton Vet Center offers care to returning service members, regardless of which conflict you served in. Please see some of the group options we offer below and know that we also offer one on one services too!
Vietnam Veterans Groups (in person)
- Tuesdays at 2 p.m.

- Fridays at 1 p.m.

Bay County Vet Center - PTSD care
If you’re feeling on edge and on guard, having trouble with sleep or motivation, or just feeling unlike yourself following a major event or critical incident, we can teach you tools to manage these problems and get back on track. Asking for help takes courage. We provide the private, comfortable setting with expert counselors to help you take that next step.
Individual sessions are always available. Groups are scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Call us for specific details and to be scheduled for an initial appointment with one of our Veteran counselors.
We have three experienced full-time Veteran counselors who understand your Veteran or service member experience.
Okaloosa County Vet Center - PTSD care
Whether you just returned from a deployment or have been home for 40 years, it’s never too late to get help for PTSD. Getting counseling or treatment can help you manage your symptoms and keep them from getting worse.
We provide individual and group-based counseling for PTSD, focusing on a whole health approach to recovery and growth. We offer services such as these:
- One-to-one counseling, including but not limited to proven methods like Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
- Group therapy for needs, like anger or stress management, or combat support
- Group therapy for Veterans or service members who served in certain combat zones or who’ve been through similar traumas
- Support for PTSD symptoms
- Movement-based support (yoga or referral to VA Whole Health Program)
- Recreation-based support (creative expressions groups)
The National Center for PTSD (NCPTSD) is a resource for information, including PTSD basics, assessment, and treatment information, to include professional research and literature.

We provide individual and group-based counseling for PTSD, focusing on a whole health approach to recovery and growth.
