If you’re feeling on edge and on guard, having trouble with sleep or motivation, or just feeling unlike yourself following a major event or critical incident, we can teach you tools to manage these problems and get back on track. Asking for help takes courage and we provide the private, comfortable setting with expert counselors to help you take that next step. 

We commonly address the following concerns:

  • Anxiety or stress reactions
  • Depression or lack of motivation
  • Sleep difficulties, including sleep problems caused by shift work
  • Anger, aggressive behavior, and reckless behaviors
  • Overuse of alcohol or drugs
  • Adjusting to civilian life following a deployment or activation

Here are some of the evidence-based treatments we offer:

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
  • Prolonged Exposure (PE)
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Motivational Interviewing and relapse prevention
  • Adaptive disclosure for moral injury

At the Lubbock Vet Center, we offer individual and group counseling; and will tailor your counseling experience to make you comfortable.

The Lubbock Vet Center offers the following groups for PTSD:

  • Combat Life Adjustment (Discuss/learn skills to cope with symptoms related to post-traumatic stress)
  • Operation Recovery (Learn and discuss different methods of coping with post-traumatic stress)

Little Rock Vet Center - PTSD care

The Little Rock Vet Center employs counselors that are able to help Veterans and service members deal with a variety issues related to trauma. All of our counselors are trained in evidence-based practices to help you address your current symptoms or concerns. We’ll work with you to develop your own individualized path—so whether you’re needing to learn some skills to deal with daily stresses or want to have a safe place to talk about your experiences, we are here to help. The Vet Center offers the following services to address trauma and PTSD: 

  • Individual counseling 
  • Family counseling 
  • PTSD support groups (at the Vet Center and at Community Access Points with multiple meeting times to choose from)
