Our Vet Center offers bereavement counseling to any family members of active duty service members including National Guard and Reserves who died in the service of their country.  

Here at the Baton Rouge Vet Center we utilize a combination of individual, marital, and family therapy to assess the impact of loss of a loved one and support each individual through their own journey of acceptance and healing.  This also may include referring individuals to other community resources such as support groups that deal with traumatic losses of loved ones, such as Baton Rouge Crisis Intervention Center.

Our team in Tulsa can offer counseling and other support such as:

• Bereavement counseling for families who have lost a loved one while they were serving on active duty
• Grief counseling and support
• Community referrals for grief support groups

Loss is inevitable in life, whether it’s a family member, close friend, beloved pet, relationship, or significant lifelong dream or goal.

We have a certified grief/bereavement counselor on staff ready to help you move forward in life in the absence of your loss.

The bereavement process may be different for everyone.  The process may involve different emotions including sadness, anger, guilt, and regret, and it can be helpful to have a counselor  there with you through the stages of this process. We offer bereavement counseling to loved ones of active duty service members who have passed. 

We support Gold Star families. We offer grief and bereavement counseling if your service member died while serving on active duty.

We can help get you connect to the Veterans Benefits Administration, National Cemetery Administration, and navigate burial and survivor benefits using the Planning Your Legacy Toolkit.
