Grief and bereavement counseling provides assistance and support to people with emotional and psychological stress after the death of a loved one. Bereavement counseling includes a broad range of transition services, including outreach, counseling, and referral services to family members.
Our Vet Center offers bereavement counseling to any family members of active duty service members including National Guard and Reserves who died in the service of their country.
Little Rock Vet Center - Grief and bereavement counseling
Grief counseling, also known as bereavement therapy, is provided at the Vet Center to assist you in coping with loss. The death of a loved one can cause both emotional and physical pain and can even impair your ability to function in your normal activities. While grief is a normal part of loss, you don’t have to be alone.
Counselors at the Vet Center provide services to help with a wide variety of grief and situations related to loss. Our counselors are trained to assist family members who have lost loved ones while on active duty with the military as well as in many other situations, such as those involving complicated or traumatic grief.

We offer bereavement services to family members of Veterans who were receiving Vet Center services at the time of death and to the families of service members who died while serving on active duty. We have Spanish-speaking counselors available for the Spanish-speaking community.
Houston Southwest Vet Center - Grief and bereavement counseling
If you are having trouble adjusting to a difficult life change or someone close to you has passed away, the Southwest Houston Vet Center can offer counseling and other support such as:
- Bereavement counseling for families who have lost a loved one while they were serving on active duty
- Grief counseling
- Contact information to the Veterans Benefits Administration and National Cemetery regarding possible burial and survival benefits.

Jackson Vet Center provides bereavement counseling for families who has lost service members while serving on active duty.
Fort Worth Vet Center - Grief and bereavement counseling
Bereavement counseling is assistance and support to people with emotional and psychological stress after the death of a loved one. Bereavement counseling includes a broad range of transition services, including outreach, counseling, and referral services to family members.
Our Vet Center offers bereavement counseling to any family members of Armed Forces personnel who died in the service of their country. Also eligible are family members of Reservists and National Guardsmen who die while on duty.
