"As a Veteran, family member, or caregiver, I want to know if the health service I need is provided at my system."

Content intent

The health services list page provides Veterans a list of  services available within your health care system. the page shows a list of accordions that show all of the Health System Health Services available in your system and which facilities offer these services. This page is one way that we have replaced the A-to-Z service pages from the legacy TeamSite websites.

Drupal publishing dynamically creates a lot of content on this page. You can only update the intro paragraph and spotlights directly on this content type. Other content is published on this page by other content types.

Before you start

• Each VA Healthcare System should already have a Health Services List page created for them.
• If your system is missing this page or you need further support contact the CMS helpdesk

How to update the intro paragraph

1. On your homepage after logging in, find your section under Sections.

2. On the content search page, click Content type and select Health Services List. 

3. Click Apply.

4. Under the results, click the Edit button next to page you want to edit.

5. Edit the Page Introduction field. 

6. Update the meta description, if necessary

7. Scroll down to the Editorial Workflow and select a Save as state.
8. Enter a Revision log message.
9. Click Save. 
10. Preview your content to be sure that your are creating a good web experience for our Veterans

Content best practices for the intro paragraph

• The length of this content should only be approximately 4-5 lines of text on a desktop display. Preview your content to be sure it's not too long.

How to update the "In the spotlight" on the locations page

1. On your homepage after logging in, find the section you want to edit under Sections.

2. On the content search page, click Content type and select Health Services List. 

3. Click Apply.

4. Under the results, click the Edit button next to the list you want to edit.

5. Scroll down the page to the Featured Content area.

6. Edit the URL to change the link given by the "read more" hyperlink

7. Edit the link text to update the bold title of the spotlight.

8. Edit the link summary to update the short blurb of text after the title, but before the "read more" hyperlink.

9. Scroll down to the Editorial Workflow and select a Save as state.
10. Enter a Revision log message.
11. Click Save. 
12. Preview your content to be sure that your are creating a good web experience for our Veterans

Content best practices for the spotlights

• The link text should be no more than 60 characters in length. This may be enforced by Drupal in the future.
• The length of the link summary should only be one or two lines of text in each box. Preview your content to be sure it's not too long.
• The length of content in all three spotlights should be relatively even visually. Preview your content to be sure it's not too long.

How to update health services

• If you want to add a health care service to this page: You need to create both a Health System Health Service for your health care system and create a Facility health service for that service.
• If you want to update a health service accordion on this page: You need to edit the Health System Health Service for your health care system. Note: Some content is maintained nationally by VHA Digital Media.
• If you want to add or remove a facility from being listing in a health service accordion you need to add or remove a Facility health service for that service from that facility.
• Available Health care services are from the VHA Health Services Taxonomy maintained by VHA Digital Media and the Office of the CTO.
