When can people start viewing my pages?

Veterans, service members, their families, and your community partners will be able to visit your pages as soon as they are live on VA.gov. They can visit the pages by directly entering your web address, which uses the pattern https://www.va.gov/escanaba-vet-center/.

When will the pages be visible in search results?

You'll likely see your pages in the top few search results soon after they go live on VA.gov. Usually, the legacy pages from the Facilities Locator & Leadership Directory and Facility Locator detail pages appear in the results just above newly published pages.

Legacy page redirect requests are submitted to other teams in batches. Timing for redirects depends on when your pages are published and what work those teams have prioritized when they receive the redirect requests. Generally, you can expect your new pages to appear above (or instead of) the legacy pages in search results in a week or two.

What about the legacy pages?

Generally, you can expect the legacy pages to point to your newly published pages in a week or two.

If you've relied on those directory pages to find key staff or other information, don't worry - you can still access them on the VA intranet. We only request redirects for Veteran-facing (public) pages.

What is my redirect status?

Check the Redirects column for your Vet Center on the Vet Center website development status page to find out whether or not redirects have been requested for your pages. "Pending" in this column means the redirects are in queue with the appropriate team. Once the legacy pages point to your new Vet Center pages on VA.gov, a checkmark is displayed.
