Your Vet Center counselor can connect you to either in-patient or out-patient substance abuse treatment in the community, such as at the Olin E. Teague Veterans' Center or another community partner.
Amarillo Vet Center - Addiction and substance abuse care
Your Vet Center counselor can connect you to either in-patient or out-patient substance abuse treatment in the community.
Johnson City Vet Center - Addiction and substance abuse care
Unhealthy substance use is often connected with PTSD, depression, or stress. We can help you understand how problematic drinking, substance use, or gambling might be related to other stressors in your life and we can teach you how to take control over your substance use.
We can refer to our local VA Mountain Home Domiciliary or to agencies in our community.
Fort Collins Vet Center - Intimate partner violence support
Please let your Fort Collins counselor know as they have access to resources that may assist you.
Pueblo Vet Center - Homeless Veteran care
We use referrals to HUD/ VASH to assist homeless Veterans. We also support you by:
- Participating in homeless stand-downs in several communities including Pueblo, Colorado Springs and Trinidad, CO
- Assisting Mount Carmel in food distribution events
- Working with Volunteers of America in a variety of services
- Assisting Veterans Service Organizations with food distribution events
Saint George Vet Center - Addiction and substance abuse care
Saint George Vet Center has trained counselors to assist you through the process of managing substance abuse.
We have the ability to create groups by request. We can also provide referral resources for inpatient facilities, if needed.
Kalispell Vet Center - Addiction and substance abuse care
Groups:
- Veterans in Recovery (VIR) Group- Attendees discuss staying active in recovery from addiction and brainstorm pitfalls as well as strategies to help foster long-term sobriety.
- Seeking Change- Attendees explore what better balance in their lives would look like, focus on addictions and harm-reduction, increasing motivation for change.
