Substance use often goes hand-in-hand with PTSD, depression, or stress. We can help you understand how problematic drinking or drug use might be related to other stressors in your life. We’ll help support you with relapse intervention and prevention. We’ll also help connect you with more intensive or comprehensive substance use treatment programs within VA or in our community, if needed.

We can provide counseling and/or refer you to VA West Texas health care located in Big Spring, Texas, as well as local community agencies for additional support and services.

We refer Veterans and service members struggling with addiction to the programs within the North Texas VA Health Care System, other community residential treatment programs contracted with the VA and support groups within the community.

We provide supportive counseling for substance-related issues.

• Management of sobriety, stress, and other symptoms
• Help on improving family relationships
• Assistance in maintaining employment or acquisition of benefits
• Helping you stay clean and sober  

We integrate techniques of the following therapies

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Motivational Interviewing (MI)
• Family Systems Therapy

We know that addiction and substance abuse issues often accompany trauma-related conditions.

We can easily refer Veterans in need of such services to excellent programs at the local VA or within the community for outpatient treatment or residential care.
